Paul Quinn On The Quinn Homestretch Project

Paul Quinn speaks to City Council

The Quinn Homestretch project is a 10-story mixed use development to provide 233 senior residential units with independent, assisted living and memory care units. The project is located on S Maple Avenue. At the April 10, 2023, City Council meeting, Paul Quinn, owner of Quinn Auction Galleries and two of the three parcels to be redeveloped through this effort, addressed the Council to explain his vision for the Quinn Homestretch Project.

This was the first time the City Council reviewed the project. Our post, A Quinn Homestretch Project Primer, provides an overview of this plan. The post, Quinn Homestretch Architectural Plans, contains selected images from the latest architectural package submitted.

Counsel Andrew Painter represents the project and introduced Mr. Quinn at the April 10 meeting. A 40-plus-year resident of the City of Falls Church, Mr. Quinn is well known in the community. Below is a video clip of Mr. Quinn’s remarks (3m 14s).

Mr. Quinn noted that his wife, Katherine Quinn, has lived in Falls Church City since 1948, leaving only for about 10 years to go to school. Of their 52 years of marriage, 45 years have been in the City.

He explained that their vision is to provide a senior living experience with other complementary and complementing features – medical offices, restaurant, and park. They are pleased to be able to turn the Rolling Road area into a park that will be affiliated and associated with the project. Mr. Quinn would like to see that park populated with Virginian native trees and plants to the highest degree possible.

Mr. Quinn said that he and his wife hope that when the project is approved, they will be on the list of people who want to live there.
